Shanghai marked a key milestone in epidemic prevention and control as two thirds of the infected people have been discharged from hospital, as the city worst hit by the latest COVID-19 wave remains on high alert and adheres to the dynamic zero-COVID policy.
A total of 3,981 local symptomatic COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital after recovery, while another 27,121 asymptomatic infections released from medical observation.
So far, nearly two thirds of Shanghai's confirmed cases have been discharged from hospital.
At present, more than 10,000 medical personnel are stationed in designated hospitals and temporary hospitals and more than 300,000 Party members are working in communities in the joint fight against the epidemic.

We believe that only through joint efforts can we safeguard Shanghai and make it a warm home for everyone," said Wang Na, head nurse with Jinyang Community Health Service Center in Pudong New Area, Shanghai.

At present, Shanghai is still at a critical stage of epidemic prevention and control. Adhering to the dynamic zero-COVID policy, Shanghai is pushing for a series of prevention and control measures to be put in place to firmly and thoroughly cut the transmission trains of the virus.
