"We invested in our people, we educated them , we are still continuing to do that and there's a lot of work to do. We invested in health, public health, built general infrastructure, we have invested in technology to solve different areas. There are new things you have to deal with, so there's an overlap of filling these gaps that you were left from a period in the past. But there are things you have to do as of now and then thinking about the future."

Looking at from 2000 to 2020, we had a vision for that period of twenty years, and in that so many things have happened. China contributed to the modernization of our infrastructure. China has contributed to health, education and other systems. So that is already significant and we are grateful that has happened."

China has made significant contributions to Rwanda's development, the country’s President Paul Kagame said during an exclusive interview with China Media Group.
Kagame talked about the country's Vision 2050, which sets the long term strategic vision for Rwanda to achieve a high quality of life for all Rwandans and become an upper middle income country by 2035 and a high income country by 2050.
But there are things you have to do as of now and then thinking about the future," said Kagame.
Kagame added that China has made significant contributions to Rwanda’s development over the last two decades.

China has contributed to health, education and other systems. So that is already significant and we are grateful that has happened," he said.
Kagame said that his country would continue to seek partnerships with other countries to mobilize investments while addressing some of Rwanda’s specific problems.
