"Compared with cities, the situation in rural areas is more complicated and therefore joint efforts from different channels and departments are needed to prevent and control the epidemic there. Promoting health knowledge is key for COVID-19 prevention and control work in China’s rural areas, said a medical expert recently.
Li Yanming, a respiratory expert at the Beijing Hospital, called for joint efforts of different channels and departments on epidemic prevention and control work in rural areas, where the situation is more complicated.
"Compared with cities, the situation in rural areas is more complicated and therefore joint efforts from different channels and departments are needed to prevent and control the epidemic there. In rural areas, priority should be given to health knowledge publicity. Rural areas are different from the urban areas in that some seniors do not know much about elementary knowledge of COVID-19 infections. Li also stressed the importance of publicizing relevant knowledge in ways and words that are easily understood by elderly people.
