China Media Group (CMG) has released the program list for the upcoming 2023 Spring Festival Gala on Friday.

Themed "A New Era of Prosperity, Better Life in Each Passing Day," the four-hour-plus gala will present various performances, such as singing and dancing, stage comedies, opera, martial arts and acrobatics, to the audience, expressing wishes for the country to be prosperous and peaceful in the new year.

Some creative programs revolving around mythical animals and martial arts will also be presented to audience by using new technologies, such as VR, 3D rendering and AI, demonstrating CMG's efforts to promote the integration and innovation of thought, art and technology.

The gala, known as "Chunwan" in Chinese, adheres to the general tone of "joy, auspiciousness and jubilation," highlighting the theme of happiness and confidence, and striving to express the best wishes for the Chinese Lunar New Year in a vibrant, warm, caring and hopeful atmosphere.

Apart from professional performers, ordinary people, occupational representatives such as deliverymen, medical workers and taxi drivers will also take part in the performance.

The gala will begin at 20:00 on Saturday evening, the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's most watched TV program since its debut in 1983, the gala boasts billions of viewers every year.
