The number of exits and entries during the first six days of the Spring Festival holiday hit 2.392 million, up nearly 124 percent from the same period in 2022, according to China's National Immigration Administration.
Among them, 1.2 million people entered the country while 1.192 million left the country, up 127.2 percent and 120.7 percent over the same period of last year, respectively.
Border inspection authorities inspected 109,000 ships, trains and vehicles, increasing by 62 percent over the same period of last year.
In accordance with the unified deployment of the National Immigration Administration, immigration authorities across the country have taken multiple measures to enhance customs clearance efficiency, in order to reduce the waiting time of Chinese citizens to less than 30 minutes.
The Spring Festival holiday, an occasion when Chinese people traditionally travel home for family reunions, runs from Jan. 21 to 27 this year.
