"No matter how many difficulties we encountered this time, we will try our best to overcome them. First, heavy disaster and bad weather added difficulties for our rescue operation. Power outage, network cuts and road damage due to the earthquake posed another challenge for the rescue operation. Third, there is a language barrier between us and local people, and it is still difficult to communicate with them. Fourth, we are required to communicate with relevant local government and cooperate with other rescue forces. Fifth, compared with domestic rescue operations, we are not familiar with the local situation, and it is difficult to obtain disaster information and emergency rescue support. [To overcome these difficulties], we need to get the support of the local government, the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in Türkiye and Chinese-funded enterprises."

Storyline

Chinese rescue team pledged all-out effort to carry out salvage operation in Türkiye after two devastating earthquakes struck the country's southern provinces and neighboring Syria on Monday.

An 82-member rescue team, dispatched by the Chinese government at the request of the Turkish government, departed from Beijing for Türkiye on a chartered plane at around 22:00 Tuesday and arrived at the Adana Airport at 4:30 local time (0130 GMT) on Wednesday.

In a phone interview with China Central Television (CCTV), Wang Zhi'an, senior commander of the National Fire and Rescue Administration, said they encountered many challenges during the rescue operation, but they will make all conceivable means to overcome the difficulties.
