3. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Mao Ning, spokeswoman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"China resolutely opposes the unprovoked attacks and smears from the United States and Canada. China follows the path of peaceful development, advocates openness and inclusiveness and engages in win-win cooperation. China has been a defender of world peace, a contributor to global development and an upholder of international order. In contrast, the United States and Canada adhere to the Cold War mentality, promote group politics, and instigate bloc confrontations. I think the international community can tell the right from the wrong. The United States and Canada need to reflect on their own behaviors, rather than confuse right and wrong, and blame the innocent party."

5. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Mao Ning, spokeswoman, Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"I also would like to point out that some countries always emphasize safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity, while they engage in double standards on issues regarding China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is hypocritical. The Taiwan question is China's internal affair. It concerns China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The U.S. and Canada are in no position to point fingers at China."
