Storyline

Russia and Ukraine on Saturday both claimed to have launched more attacks on each other's military equipment and other targets in multiple locations.

The Russian forces launched multiple offensives targeting Ukrainian ammunition depots, armored vehicles, artilleries and other military equipment in Krasny Liman, Donetsk, Kharkov, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, said the Russian Defense Ministry.

Russian air defense force also intercepted some projectiles and shot down a dozen of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Ukrainian army, said the ministry, adding that some parts of Bakhmut had been controlled by the Russian forces.

For the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) said Russian forces launched attacks on Krasny Liman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and some other places.

The air force and artillery units of Ukraine hit the concentration areas of Russian personnel and equipment, destroying Russian ammunition depots, air defense systems, UAVs and some other equipment, it said.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink tweeted on Saturday that the U.S. Abrams tanks needed for training Ukrainian forces have arrived in Europe and the training will begin soon, according to a report by the Interfax Ukraine.

In January, the United States said it would provide Ukraine with 31 Abrams tanks.

The Russian defense ministry said on Saturday that the Ukrainian forces used Storm Shadow missiles from Britain to attack Luhansk on Friday, killing civilians including six children.

Russian air force had shot down the Su-24 fighters used by the Ukraine forces to carry out the strike and the MiG-29 fighter that provided cover in the action.

Ukraine has yet to respond to Russia's claims.
