2. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Xue Dongsheng, deputy manager, Bozhong 19-6 gas field project (ending with shots 3-5):
"The platform is equipped with two sets of natural gas deep dehydration devices which were designed and assembled by China for the first time. The natural gas processed by these devices will not have water precipitation even in the environment of 52 MPa high pressure and minus 38 degrees Celsius. The world-leading technology can greatly improve the stable gas supply capacity of oilfields."

Storyline

China completed the construction of a 12,000-ton offshore oil and gas drilling platform in its eastern port city of Qingdao on Friday, with the project achieving multiple technical breakthroughs in offshore rig building.

The platform is also the center platform of China's Bozhong 19-6 gas field, which is the first large and integral 100-billion cubic meter gas field in east China, with proven geological reserves of natural gas exceeding 200 billion cubic meters.

The platform is 32 meters high, 65 meters long, and 56 meters wide, and weighs more than 12,000 tons.

The platform includes a triethylene glycol absorption tower, production facilities like a flash steam compressor, and a building that can accommodate up to 120 people.

"The platform is equipped with two sets of natural gas deep dehydration devices which were designed and assembled by China for the first time. The natural gas processed by these devices will not have water precipitation even in the environment of 52 MPa high pressure and minus 38 degrees Celsius. The world-leading technology can greatly improve the stable gas supply capacity of oilfields," said Xue Dongsheng, deputy manager of the Bozhong 19-6 gas field project.

Upon its operation, the platform is expected to provide stable and reliable clean energy and chemical products for the Beijing-Tianching-Hebei region and the Bohai-rim region.

"The designed annual oil and gas processing capacity of this central platform is expected to exceed 5 million tonnes. The platform will be sent to the sea in July for installation, connection and equipment commissioning after being dragged, loaded, fixed and inspected on land. It's expected to put the platform into trial operation by the end of the year," said Chen Tao, official of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Tianjin Branch.
