China's postal industry witnessed stable growth in both business revenue and parcel volume in the first eight months of this year, official data showed on Tuesday.
A total of 100.96 billion parcels were delivered in the January-August period, an increase of 13.1 percent year on year, according to the State Post Bureau.
Among them, the courier sector handled around 81.46 billion express parcels, up 15.9 percent from the same period of last year.
The postal sector raked in 970.85 billion yuan (roughly 133.05 billion U.S. dollars) in business revenue during the period, 10.4 percent higher than a year ago.
Meanwhile, the business revenue of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of Postal Savings Bank) stood at 748.81 billion yuan (about 102.62 billion U.S. dollars), a year-on-year increase of 10.7 percent.
