Russia claimed Friday that its forces defeated Ukraine's drone attacks, while Ukraine said its armed forces continued offensive operations, according to official briefings from the two countries.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a briefing released on Friday that in the past week, the Russian army repelled the attacks of the Ukrainian army in many directions, attacked Ukrainian military personnel and destroyed Ukrainian tanks, armored vehicles, various types of artillery, workshops for assembling drones, ammunition depot and explosive materials needed for ammunition production.

In addition, the ministry claimed that the Russian air defense forces had destroyed and intercepted hundreds of drones from the Ukrainian side.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) claimed that over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian armed forces continued their offensive operations in the directions of Melitopol and Bakhmut, saying that its air forces carried out several strikes on rally points with presence of Russian military personnel and equipment and air defense position.

The AFU said its rocket forces and artillery forces also attacked Russian fuel depots, communication centers, air defense systems and radar stations.

The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday said its troops destroyed a Ukrainian drone over the Kursk region at around 19:00, claiming Ukraine's attempt to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type UAV on objects on the Russian territory was thwarted.

The Ukrainian side has not yet responded to the Russian statement about defeating Ukraine's drone attacks.
