Chinese Vice President Han Zheng had a group meeting with delegates attending the 14th plenary session of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development in Beijing on Wednesday.

Han said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era has made sustained, sound and stable development.

This year, the two heads of state have twice met in-person, making comprehensive arrangements for the development of bilateral relations and setting the direction for advancing the cause of people-to-people friendship between China and Russia, said Han.

He expects the committee to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.

He also hopes that next year, the committee will take the opportunity of celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Russia and holding the year of culture, to fully leverage the strong cohesive, inspiring, and propelling power of people-to-people diplomacy, and make new and greater contributions to the development of bilateral ties.

Boris Titov, president of the Russian side of the committee, said the relations between Russia and China are at a historical high level, with remarkable achievements in cultural exchanges and practical cooperation.

Seizing some key points in time next year, the committee will continue to promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and help bring bilateral relations to a new level, he said.

Заместитель председателя КНР Хань Чжэн сегодня, 29 ноября, встретился в Пекине с участниками 14-го пленарного заседания Китайско-российского комитета дружбы, мира и развития.

Хань Чжэн отметил, что под стратегическим руководством председателя КНР Си Цзиньпина и президента РФ Владимира Путина китайско-российские отношения всеобъемлющего партнерства и стратегического взаимодействия в новую эпоху добились устойчивого, здорового и стабильного развития.

Зампредседателя КНР также выразил надежду, что Комитет будет надлежащим образом претворять в жизнь важный консенсус, достигнутый главами двух государств, и использует празднование 75-й годовщины установления китайско-российских дипотношений и проведение Года культуры в 2024 году в качестве возможности, с тем чтобы в полной мере выявлять мощную консолидирующую, вдохновляющую и стимулирующую силу народной дипломатии и внести новый и более значительный вклад в развитие двусторонних связей.

Председатель российской части Комитета Борис Титов заявил, что отношения между Россией и Китаем находятся на исторически высоком уровне, достигнуты выдающиеся результаты в области гуманитарных обменов и прагматического сотрудничества. Комитет продолжит содействовать обменам между народами двух стран и будет способствовать постоянному выведению двусторонних отношений на новую ступень.
