"Energy storage is an important technical support and infrastructure for building a new energy system. In recent years, a number of technical routes for energy storage have developed rapidly, fostering the development of domestic industries such as raw materials, basic materials, battery cell manufacturing, and power equipment. An ecosystem featuring a diversified development of China's energy storage industry has basically been formed."

China's energy storage battery shipments in the first three quarters of this year totaled 157.2 gigawatt hours (GWh), accounting for more than 90 percent of global shipments.
In addition, new technologies such as sodium-ion batteries and flow batteries have seen rapid progress, which are expected to further push forward the development of the energy storage industry.
In Guazhou County of northwest China's Gansu Province, workers have been busy installing nearly 30,000 heliostat at a solar thermal energy storage project, where molten salt technology is used to ensure stable power generation.
At the same time, the country's first salt cavern compressed air energy storage has offered 150 million-kilowatt-hours since its operation in May in Changzhou City of Jiangsu Province, marking significant progress in the research and application of China's new energy storage technology.
The latest statistics showed that China's new energy power generation installed capacity has surpassed 21 million kilowatts by the end of September.
