The death toll from Friday's terrorist attack on a concert hall in suburban Moscow has risen to 143, said Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations on Wednesday.
As of early Wednesday, the number of injured people in the attack climbed to 360, TASS news agency reported.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations updated the list of victims on its website on Wednesday and said that the list may be adjusted in the future according to the results of judicial evaluation.
Russia's Investigative Committee posted on social media earlier that day that it had received 143 reports of relatives missing in the attack.
On the same day, the committee said it would continue to investigate the terrorist attack and investigators were studying how the terrorists planned and committed the crime with Internet and analyzing the information obtained from various technical equipment used by them.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the search and rescue work had ended and by Tuesday night, the ministry had identified 120 victims of the attack.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Tuesday that 92 people, including six children, were still hospitalized, and nine wounded people, including a child, were in critical condition.
The Basman District Court in Moscow on Tuesday approved the detention of the eighth person suspected to be involved in the terrorist attack.
Russia's Federal Security Service had announced earlier that it had detained 11 suspects, four of whom directly carried out the attack.
Director of Russia's Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov said on Tuesday that the main plotter of the terrorist attack had not yet been determined, but the Ukrainian secret service aided the terrorists.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that in just a few hours after the terrorist attack, many Western media began to spread the message that extremist organizations are the main plotter.
However, given the number of members of the extremist group, it is hard to believe that the group is capable of carrying out a terrorist attack on such a scale. Even if there was such a group, it will take a long time to wait for the investigation results, she said.
She also said the United States covered up for Ukraine by denying its involvement in the attack. The United States and its allies did not call for an investigation after the attacks, which clearly shows that their position on this issue is biased.
On Tuesday, advisor to the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak rejected the notion of Ukraine's involvement in the attack.
