China's shipbuilding market share continued to lead the world in the first two months of this year, according to the indicators revealed by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry on Thursday.
In January and February, China's shipbuilding output, new orders, hand-held orders accounted for 56.5 percent, 69.5 percent and 56.1 percent of the global total respectively.
The country's shipbuilding output reached 8.26 million deadweight tons (DWT) during the period, an increase of 95.4 percent year on year.
New orders stood at 15.2 million DWT, surging 64.4 percent over the same period of last year. By the end of February, hand-held orders reached 149.19 million DWT, up 31.3 percent from a year earlier.
China's shipbuilding market share remains the world's leading as the three indicators are ranked first in the world and continue to lead the industry, said the association.
