Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Wednesday met with Royal Philips CEO Roy Jakobs in Beijing, saying China will advance high-quality development and high-level opening-up, and bring new development opportunities to businesses from all over the world.
Han noted that as President Xi Jinping stressed not long ago, reform and opening-up is "a magic tool" for contemporary China to keep pace with the times in great strides, and China's reform and opening-up will not stop.
China will continue to advance reform and opening-up, which will surely write new chapters and make new achievements in the new era, Han said.
Since the beginning of this year, the Chinese economy has got off to a good start and remains the biggest engine of world economic growth, said the vice president, adding that China's pursuit of high-quality development and high-level opening-up will inject more certainty and stability into the world and bring new development opportunities to companies from all over the world, including Philips.
Hailing China's achievements in economic and social development, Jakobs said that the Dutch company is optimistic about the potential and great opportunities of China's economic development.
Philips will continue to explore the Chinese market and promote exchanges and cooperation between the Netherlands and China in fields such as medical and health care, he said.
