Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met visiting Tanja Fajon, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Slovenia on Wednesday in Beijing, with both sides pledging deeper cooperation.

Han said since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Slovenia, bilateral ties have developed in a sound and steady manner.

China attaches great importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations with Slovenia, and stands ready to work with Slovenia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen bilateral exchanges, and consolidate political mutual trust, Han said.

For her part, Fajon said Slovenia values its relations with China, adding that her country has always taken the one-China principle as the cornerstone of bilateral relations.

She expressed willingness to further deepen political, economic and trade, cultural, and multilateral cooperation between the two sides.
