"We enjoy bilateral ties between China and Tanzania. As you know, China is the hope for African business. Trade between the countries is rising up. As you can see the business from Tanzania to China has risen up to 15 percent from eight percent. Therefore, during these six years, there is a good rise of business margin to China, goods from Tanzania to China. Through that bilateral [trade] we see a lot of opportunities. There are Chinese companies in Tanzania constructing so many projects, as the central government is finishing the construction of standard-gauge railways, which will be helpful for the business of Tanzania and East African general. This project also, there are Chinese companies here doing with various things. So, there is a lot of benefits for both countries. And we hope this bilateral [cooperation] to continue stronger than this."

In 2023, China remained Tanzania's largest trading partner and biggest investor. From January to November, bilateral trade between the two countries reached 7.96 billion US dollars, representing a 6.8 percent year-on-year increase.

China exempted 98 percent of Tanzania's exported goods to China from tariffs, allowing its premium agricultural products like avocados and wild-caught seafood to enter the Chinese market. China is expected to retain its status as Tanzania's top trading partner for the eighth consecutive year.
