Storyline


The China Media Group (CMG) joined hands with the Zhejiang provincial government in unveiling the national base for short-video production in Hangzhou, capital city of the eastern province, on Friday.

Based on the project, this pair of partners aim to create new heights of playing the guiding role of culture, boosting scientific and technological innovation and building an industrial cluster, featuring the advantages of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

At Friday's event, the AI production experimental workshop of the base and the CMG's Short-video Base Company (Hangzhou) were both inaugurated. The media group and Hangzhou city signed a cooperation framework agreement on joint efforts to promote the development of the base.

In addition, a series of projects on high-quality short-video content creation and collection were also launched at the event.

According to an annual report on China's internet audiovisual service development, by December 2023, China had some 1.55 billion short-video accounts online, with more than 15 million professional live streamers, and averagely, nearly 80 million of works were posted on the country's major short-video platforms every day, with each user spending 151 minutes on them daily.
