Executives from major Chinese media groups signed agreements to develop a new 8K ultra-high-definition (UHD) Channel for China Media Group (CMG) during a launch ceremony at the Shanghai International Media Port on Saturday.

The executives from International Media Port (Shanghai) Culture Development Co., Ltd., China Central Digital Television Media Co., Ltd., and Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch signed a framework agreement that will promote the leapfrog development of the 8K UHD television industry in China.

Elsewhere in Shanghai on Saturday, CMG also launched an interactive roadshow called "IP Enters Campus", which promises to deepen the connection between CMG and young people through diverse and colorful means.

The chief director of CMG Spring Festival Gala, the lead anchor of the main evening news bulletin on CCTV and the host of the "Leaders Talk" program spearheaded the launch of the roadshow that will visit universities including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), and Tongji University.
