Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Beijing on Wednesday, with the two sides exchanging views on China-Pakistan relations and bilateral cooperation in all fields and international issues of common concern.
At the talks, both sides agreed to firmly safeguard each other's core interests and go ahead with the strong relationship between the two countries.
"Pakistan will continue to support China on all its core issues – including Xinjiang, the South China Sea, Taiwan and Xizang," Dar said.
The two sides also decided to deepen practical cooperation, and speed up the building of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. China will also help Pakistan in developing innovative technology and the new energy sector.
"In a turbulent and changing world, a healthy, stable and robust China-Pakistan relationship is of great significance to regional peace and prosperity," said Wang, also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
At Wang's invitation, Dar is paying an official visit to China from May 13 to 16. This is Dar's first visit to China since he took office earlier this year – an important step in the interaction between the two countries. China says it will further implement the consensus and deepen all-weather cooperation with Pakistan.
