Residents in the Iranian capital expressed deep admiration for Iran's late President Ebrahim Raisi, for whom a memorial event was held in Tehran on Wednesday.

Iran's official news agency IRNA confirmed on Monday the deaths of President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azarbaijan's Governor Malek Rahmati, senior Shia cleric Mohammad-Ali Ale-Hasehem, and others in the helicopter crash on Sunday in Varzaqan County in Iran's East Azarbaijan Province.

The funeral and commemoration ceremonies for Raisi and his entourage were held on Wednesday in Tehran.

"We are very much saddened by the loss of such a president in Iran. [He was] a person who worked for the people, and an individual of honesty and integrity," said a local man.

"We see many virtues in President Raisi. He consistently supported civilians and vulnerable groups, earning great admiration and love from the general public," said another.

Amid turmoil in the region, residents insisted that Raisi's tragic death would not disrupt the development of the country.

"President Raisi truly dedicated himself to working for the people. Since assuming office as president, he had been taking care of the vulnerable groups in society and never discriminated against the people. Today, representatives from all walks of life have come to attend his farewell ceremony," said a mourner.

"Iran does not lack capable people. It is hoped that people will elect a wise leader, like President Raisi, as the new president. Iran will not decline due to the loss of capable people such as President Raisi," said one of the local men.

The late president's body will be laid to rest in the holy shrine of Imam Reza.

A Téhéran, capitale de l'Iran, les habitants ont exprimé leur profonde admiration pour le feu président iranien Ebrahim Raïssi, pour lequel un événement commémoratif a eu lieu mercredi à Téhéran.

L'agence de presse officielle iranienne IRNA a confirmé lundi la mort du président Raïssi, du ministre des Affaires étrangères Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, du gouverneur de l'Azerbaïdjan oriental Malek Rahmati, du religieux chiite Mohammad-Ali Ale-Hasehem et d'autres personnes après que leur hélicoptère s'est écrasé dimanche dans le comté de Varzaqan, dans la province de l'Azerbaïdjan oriental.

Les funérailles et les cérémonies de commémoration de M. Raïssi et de son entourage auront lieu mercredi à Téhéran.

Aujourd'hui, des représentants de tous les horizons sont venus assister à sa cérémonie d'adieu", a indiqué un habitant.

شهدت العاصمة الإيرانية طهران حشودا غفيرة في وداع الرئيس الراحل إبراهيم رئيسي الذي توفي في حادث تحطم طائرته المروحية يوم الأحد/ 19 مايو في منطقة ورزقان بمحافظة أذربيجان الشرقية.

وأكدت وكالة الأنباء الإيرانية الرسمية (إرنا) يوم الاثنين وفاة الرئيس رئيسي ووزير الخارجية حسين أمير عبد اللهيان ومحافظ أذربيجان الشرقية مالك رحمتي ورجل الدين الشيعي البارز محمد علي علي هاشم وآخرين في حادث تحطم الطائرة المروحية.

وأقيمت مراسم تشييع رئيسي ومرافقيه يوم الأربعاء في طهران.

وقال ساكن محلي في طهران: "نشعر بحزن شديد لفقدان رئيس كهذا في إيران. هو شخص عمل من أجل الشعب وكان يتحلى بالصدق والنزاهة."

فيما ذكر ساكن آخر: "نرى فضائل كثيرة في الرئيس رئيسي، حيث دعم المدنيين والفئات الضعيفة باستمرار، ونال الإعجاب والحب الكبير من عامة الناس."

ووسط الاضطرابات التي تشهدها المنطقة، يعتقد السكان أن وفاة رئيسي المأساوية لن تعطل تنمية البلاد.
