Russia said on Wednesday that it took control of a settlement in the Donetsk region, while Ukraine claimed to have repelled Russia's military attacks over the past 24 hours.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that in the past 24 hours, the Russian army controlled a settlement in Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region, after it repelled the Ukrainian army's counterattacks in multiple directions. The ministry also said the Russian army destroyed two Ukrainian ammunition depots.

The Russian air defense system also intercepted 34 Ukrainian drones, multiple aerial bombs and U.S.-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), the ministry said.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces issued a battle report on the same day stating that the Ukrainian troops were engaged in 105 battles along the frontline in the past 24 hours.

The Ukrainian army repelled Russian attacks in the directions of Kupiansk and Kramatorsk. And 10 battles occurred in the direction of Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, as Russian forces carried out airstrikes on Vovchansk and Vilcha.
