A conference on the innovative development of low-altitude equipment was held in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province on Monday, aiming to foster new growth drivers for the low-altitude economy, particularly in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
An official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology highlighted the strong foundation of the Greater Bay Area for developing the low-altitude industry and called for its multi-scenario applications of the industry based on local conditions.
"It is essential to fully explore the demand for low-altitude tourism, urban logistics, air traffic, cross-border transportation, and maritime operations in the Greater Bay Area, particularly by leveraging the foundation and strength of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle and drone industries. Active efforts should be made in developing air-ground multidimensional transportation networks to promote the large-scale application of low-altitude equipment and the clustered development of the low-altitude industry," said Xin Guobin, vice minister of the ministry.
A document was released at the conference, which stated that China's low-altitude industry is at a critical stage of transitioning from individual intelligence to collective intelligence.
