In the latest developments of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Russian forces reported further advances into Ukrainian defensive positions on Tuesday, while Ukrainian troops countered with precise strikes on Russian command posts and equipment.
The Russian Defense Ministry said its troops had continued offensive operations in the Kharkov and Donetsk directions, where the enemy lost altogether three tanks, 14 automobiles, 32 artillery guns and pieces, six electronic warfare stations and six ammunition depots during the past 24 hours. Russian forces also struck Ukrainian military airfields, drone production workshops, and concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment.
In addition, Russian forces successfully repelled three Ukrainian counterattacks in the Kursk region, while launching air and artillery strikes against Ukrainian manpower and weaponry in the Sumy region.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a total of 54 combat clashes over the past 24 hours as of 16:00 the same day.
The Ukrainian military claimed it had struck nine concentrations of Russian troop and equipment, two command posts, two electronic warfare platforms, and three artillery systems using airstrikes, missile attacks, and artillery shelling.
Ukraine's Air Force also carried out a "precision strike" on a Russian command post in the Kursk region on Monday, inflicting "significant losses" on both the Russian facility and its personnel.
In addition, the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper reported that Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has approved a major rotation plan for frontline units, the first of its kind since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, citing sources within the General Staff. According to the report, around 50,000 service members from all branches and types of troops will be reassigned to the Ground Forces to shore up the army's combat capabilities, and ensure that the combat personnel receive adequate rest and recuperation.
