Storyline

China Media Group (CMG) held a dialogue on Monday in Tokyo, promoting China's economic opportunities and cultural exchanges with Japan.

The dialogue brings together political, business, academic, and media representatives to explore the opportunities that China's high-quality development presents to the world, as well as economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two Asian countries.

The event was part of CMG's "China in Spring Time: Sharing Opportunities with the World" Global Dialogue series.

CMG President Shen Haixiong delivered a video address at the event.

Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao also attended the event.

During the just-concluded "two sessions", the annual meetings of China's top legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), and the top political advisory body, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China set a GDP growth target of around 5 percent for its economy in 2025.

Participants emphasized that China's commitment to expanding high-level openness and fostering international cooperation injects stability and certainty into global development.

"Investment has led to infrastructure construction such as rail and road networks to open up roads and regional connectivity. I highly respect that," said Kumiko Haba, honorary professor at Aoyama Gakuin University.

"China has made many achievements in manufacturing, digital industry, and high-end information technology. Deepseek, a symbol of China's technological development, has also emerged. This also proves that China has entered the highest-end field. What particularly caught my attention is that the development team of Deepseek is almost all from Chinese universities," said Satoshi Tomisaka, professor at Takushoku University.

Participants also highlighted the importance of fostering mutual benefits and overcoming external challenges to ensure the stable and long-term development of bilateral relations.

The dialogue screened highlights of CMG's acclaimed program "Leading the Way", with guests present launching in-depth discussions on China-Japan scientific-technological cooperation and cultural exchanges.

The event was reported by a number of local mainstream media.
