China and the United States have not held any consultation or negotiations on the issue of tariffs, let alone reached any agreement, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Thursday.

Guo Jiakun, the spokesman, made the statement at a press conference in Beijing when asked about recent reports from U.S. media that China and the U.S. are negotiating on the tariff issue and may even reach an agreement. He denied such reports.

La Chine et les États-Unis n'ont pas tenu de consultations ni de négociations sur la question tarifaire et aucun accord n'a été conclu à ce sujet, a déclaré jeudi Guo Jiakun, porte-parole du ministère chinois des Affaires étrangères.

M. Guo a fait ces remarques lors d'un point de presse quotidien en réponse à des informations qui indiquent que les deux pays seraient en négociations et pourraient bientôt parvenir à un accord sur la question des droits de douane.

Китайский дипломат сделал это заявление, комментируя на очередной пресс-конференции недавние сообщения США о том, якобы две страны ведут переговоры по тарифам и вскоре могут достичь соглашения.

Все это фейки, заметил Го Цзякунь, добавив, что именно американская сторона развязала тарифную войну с Китаем, а позиция Китая последовательна и ясна.

"Если США пытаются развязать тарифную и торговую войну, то Китай готов бороться до конца; если США действительно желают путем диалога и переговоров решить вопросы, связанные с тарифами, то двери Китая открыты. Диалог и переговоры с Китаем должны проводиться на основе равенства, уважения и взаимной выгоды", – отметил он.
