"Drones are used to transport items such as buckles, screwdrivers, safety belts, and other equipment. The five-point safety belts, essential for construction sites with significant altitude differences, provide crucial protection. The use of drones for transportation has proven highly efficient, with each delivery taking only two to three minutes."

Maintenance workers are replacing the steel cables on the iconic "Chang Kong Plank Road", a dizzying cliffside walkway on Mount Huashan in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to ensure the popular tourist spot is ready for the May Day holiday from May 1 to 5.
Located in Weinan City in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Mount Huashan is one of the Five Great Mountains of China and holds a special place in China's history, culture and mythology.
The extraordinary cliffside walkway hangs 2,100 meters high on the cliffs of the mountain, known for its steep and perilous peaks, the highest of which is the South Peak at 2,154.9 meters.
The maintenance work, which began on Wednesday, involves replacing the 200-meter-long steel cables that connect 88 anchor points along the cliffside walkway and hold up the wooden planks that make up the walkway.
To get building materials and safety kit to the brave workers dangling from the cliffside requires a lot of heavy lifting, though some of that is done by cable cars and, increasingly, using heavy-lift drones.
"Drones are used to transport items such as buckles, screwdrivers, safety belts, and other equipment. The five-point safety belts, essential for construction sites with significant altitude differences, provide crucial protection. The use of drones for transportation has proven highly efficient, with each delivery taking only two to three minutes," said Wu Pengtao, who is overseeing maintenance on the Nantianmen section of the walkway, also known as the Southern Heavenly Gate.
The installation of the new steel cables began Friday and is expected to take up to two days. Once the maintenance work has passed inspection, the upgraded Chang Kong Plank Road is set to welcome its first visitors during the May Day holiday.
