More than 50 competition horses arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport ahead of the highly anticipated Shanghai Longines Global Champions Tour on early Sunday morning.
Customs officers immediately boarded the aircraft to conduct inspections, ensuring the health and identification of the horses. Just over three hours later, the horses were transported by a fleet of 10 specialized horse carriers to the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Center.
The horses had departed from the Netherlands, traveled to Liege Airport in Belgium, and then boarded a Qatar Airways flight, transiting through Doha before arriving in Shanghai.
The 16-hour journey was carefully managed to maintain the horses' condition, with a dedicated team of 11 staff members onboard the chartered flight to take care of them throughout the flight.
Upon the arrival at the venue, the horses appeared to be in good spirits and health. Shanghai Customs officials carried out information verification and health inspections.
They also aligned on quarantine requirements and certification samples to minimize quarantine risks.
