China and the United States are not engaged in any consultation or negotiation on tariffs, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun in Beijing on Wednesday.

Guo made the remarks at a regular press briefing when responding to a media query.

"As far as I know, China and the U.S. are not engaged in any consultation or negotiation on tariffs," he said.
