Storyline

In the lead-up to Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Russia, China Media Group (CMG) has launched a special screening event in Moscow, showcasing a selection of its premium films and television programs.

Xi will pay a state visit to Russia from May 7-10 and attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow, at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation.

As one of the key events of the China-Russia Year of Culture, CMG's screening event features more than a dozen top-tier films and television programs, including "Decoding China: A Unique Path to Modernization," "Beauty and Harmony," "Hello, Robot!" "Traditional Chinese Medicine Gala," and "Three Meals, Four Seasons."

This initiative, jointly organized by CMG and Russian media, will serve as a vital bridge for Russian audiences, allowing them to gain deeper insights into China's modernization journey, its vitality in the new era, and its unique cultural heritage.

In a video address, Galina Kulikova, first deputy chairperson of the Russia-China Friendship Association and recipient of the Friendship Medal, China's highest state honor, emphasized that the broadcast would allow Russian audiences to gain deeper insights into the vibrant practice of Chinese-style modernization, experience China's long-standing history and colorful culture, as well as further strengthen the deep friendship between the people of the two nations.

Government, cultural and media representatives in China and Russia expressed their appreciation for the longstanding, close, and positive cooperative relationship between the media of both countries.

They also expressed hope that in the future, joint reporting, technological innovation, and other forms of collaboration will be further strengthened to tell the compelling stories of the friendly exchanges between the two countries.

The featured programs have been gradually broadcast across major Russian media platforms, including VGTRK, Rossiyskaya Gazeta's official website, the Big Asia TV channel, TV BRICS, and VK's video platform. The screenings will continue until the end of September this year.
