British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday announced that the United Kingdom has reached an agreement with the United States to reduce tariffs on a range of goods, following a recent wave of so-called "reciprocal tariffs" introduced by Washington.
Speaking at a press conference, Starmer said the deal will eliminate tariffs on British steel and aluminium exports to the United States. It will also lower tariffs on up to 100,000 British-made vehicles per year, from 27.5 percent to 10 percent.
In return, the British government said there would be "reciprocal market access on beef," with British farmers given a tariff-free quota for 13,000 metric tons, and Britain would scrap tariffs on American ethanol imports.
