Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in Beijing on Monday.
Rodriguez is in Beijing to attend the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum.
Li, also secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Miguel Diaz-Canel, China and Cuba have been making new achievements in building a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
Noting this year marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Cuba, Li said China will continue firmly supporting Cuba in the socialist development path suited to its national conditions.
Li said China stands ready to work with Cuba to deepen political mutual trust, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, enhance strategic coordination, and advance the special friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries.
Rodriguez expressed gratitude for China's strong support for Cuba's economic and social development. He said that Cuba firmly upholds the one-China principle and is willing to further deepen its friendly relations with China and promote the development of LAC-China relations.
