At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Ecuador Daniel Noboa, Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy, Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng, attended President Noboa's inauguration in Quito, capital of Ecuador, on Saturday local time.

Noboa met with Huai on Friday.

Huai conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi to Noboa. Huai said China and Ecuador are good friends and good partners, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, relations between the two countries have developed steadily and cooperation in various fields has achieved fruitful results.

China always views its relations with Ecuador from a strategic height and long-term perspective, said Huai, noting that China stands ready to work with Ecuador to follow through on the important consensus between the two heads of state, and promote more achievements of the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership to better benefit their people.

Noboa asked Huai to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Xi and expressed his gratitude to President Xi for sending a special envoy to attend his inauguration.

Noboa said Ecuador is firmly committed to the one-China principle, noting that the new government is looking forward to strengthening practical cooperation with China in more fields and continuously deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
