"Here is Tehran, Iran's capital, where the sounds of explosions continue to echo through parts of the city, and tensions remains high. In a significant message, Iran's Supreme Leader declared that 'this war has been imposed on us', and firmly stated that 'Iran will never surrender'. Millions of residents have begun evacuating the city. Long lines at gas station, especially on the outskirts, reflect the growing anxiety as people try to flee possible danger zones. Despite the escalating situation, the Iranian government's response in terms of public services has so far been notably strong. Essentially, utilities, water, gas, electricity and medical care continue without interruption, ensuring a degree of stability in the middle of chaos. Internet access remains available, though it is limited and disrupted in some areas -- a likely response to security concerns, of course. Still, daily life has been deeply affected, and uncertainty about what lies ahead weighs heavily on people's minds."

Storyline

Israel launched a new round of airstrikes targeting Tehran on Wednesday following a televised address by Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The attacks primarily targeted the eastern and northeastern parts of the city, with loud explosions heard across the city.

According to a China Media Group (CMG) correspondent in Tehran, Ali Mousavi, one of the sites hit was near a naval hospital along the Sayyad-Shirazi Highway.

"The sounds of explosions continue to echo through parts of the city, and tensions remains high. In a significant message, Iran's Supreme Leader declared that 'this war has been imposed on us', and firmly stated that 'Iran will never surrender'," said Hossein Neamatzadeh, another CMG correspondent in Iranian capital.

As fear grips the city, millions of residents have begun evacuating, Hossein said.

"Long lines at gas station, especially on the outskirts, reflect the growing anxiety as people try to flee possible danger zones,” he said.

Despite the escalating situation, the Iranian government's response in terms of public services has so far been notably strong, according to the reporter.

"Essentially, utilities, water, gas, electricity and medical care continue without interruption, ensuring a degree of stability in the middle of chaos. Internet access remains available, though it is limited and disrupted in some areas -- a likely response to security concerns, of course. Still, daily life has been deeply affected, and uncertainty about what lies ahead weighs heavily on people's minds," said Hosein.

In his televised address, Khamenei said that Iran remains steadfast in its conflict with Israel and will not surrender to pressure.

Khamenei also warned that any American military intervention would cause "irreparable damage." "Those who know Iran and its history understand that threatening this nation is futile," he said.
