"After the conflict broke out, President Xi Jinping made clear China's position. China has also been maintaining communications with Iran, Israel, Egypt, and Aman, calling on all parties to take immediate actions to cool down the tense situation and prevent the region from descending into greater turmoil. The military conflict is not the solution to issues, and the escalated tension in the region does not conform to the shared interest of the international community. China stands ready to continue working with regional countries as well as the international community and play a constructive role in restoring peace and stability in the Middle East."

China stands ready to play a constructive role in restoring peace and stability in the Middle East as soon as possible, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Thursday at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
Guo made the remarks in response to a media query on China's role in ending the Iran-Israel conflict.
