China-Butterfly Boom/Yunnan
Yuanjiang County, Yunnan Province, southwest China - Recent (CCTV - No access Chinese mainland)
1. Aerial shots of river valley, forest
2. Various of butterflies in forest
The breathtaking sight of a butterfly boom has recently appeared again in a local valley of southwest China's Yunnan Province, presenting a rare ecological spectacle.
During the boom period, approximately two to three million butterfly larvae transform into adults each day in a river valley in Yuanjiang County, emerging in clusters in forests, along streams, and on pathways.
It is the second butterfly boom in the river valley this year and is expected to last until early July.
The river valley, with its rich vegetation and abundant water sources, provides ideal conditions for the survival of butterflies, making it a perfect habitat.
Although butterflies are at the bottom of the biological chain, they also have high requirements for the ecological environment. Yuanjiang County hosts over 600 butterfly species.
