East China's coastal province of Fujian has prepared for Typhoon Danas as fishing boats operating at different marine fish farms are all expected to seek shelter in nearby harbors on Saturday and Sunday.
Danas, the fourth typhoon of the year, emerged at around 02:00 on Saturday in the South China Sea as a tropical storm.
As strong winds are expected to intensify across its fishing areas, the Fujian Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters on Saturday issued directives, urging fishing boats to seek shelter in nearby harbors to avoid the storm's wrath.
The coast guard officers have been deployed to patrol the fishing grounds, assisting fishermen in securing mooring ropes and ensuring vessels are prepared for the approaching typhoon.
