China opposes all forms of terrorism and calls on related countries to work together for regional security and stability, stated a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman on Friday, when asked to comment on the U.S. placing TRF as a terrorist organization.

On Thursday, the U.S. designated TRF, The Resistance Front, as a "Foreign Terrorist Organization and Specially Designated Global Terrorist," according to a statement by the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The TRF, also known as Kashmir Resistance, is blamed for the April 22 terrorist attack that took place in Jammu and Kashmir and killed at least 25 people.

"China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the terrorist attack that occurred on April 22. China calls on countries in the region to enhance counterterrorism cooperation and jointly maintain regional security and stability," Chinese spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular press conference.
