The latest achievements in China's green agriculture sector are on display at the ongoing third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing, highlighting the country's drive to modernize agriculture and upgrade agricultural supply chain.

Themed "Connecting the World for a Shared Future", the five-day expo, kicked off in Beijing on Wednesday, drawing 651 companies and institutions from 75 countries and regions. Foreign exhibitors make up roughly 35 percent of participants, underscoring the event's growing international influence.

A dedicated event held at the expo on Thursday spotlighted green and low-carbon transformation of Agriculture, where global experts and industrial leaders lauded China's role in global green agriculture development.

"China is positioning itself as a hub for innovation, value creation and green technology. Investment is scaling up the research and development in China and its position in China at the forefront of this innovation and technologies," said Carlos Aldeco, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative in China.

Green agriculture is among the six major supply chains showcased at the expo. Its exhibition area presents a wide range of products covering the whole supply chain from farm to table. The exhibitor lineup is more diverse than ever. In addition to traditional agricultural giants, companies specializing in sorting equipment, testing instruments, and smart packaging joined the expo for the first time. Many showcased new practices in modern and intelligent agriculture.

Huang Duoduo, chief supply chain officer of YumChina, introduced a breakthrough for logistics solution.

"We launched China's first narrow-aisle, four-way shuttle and goods-to-person system in the cold chain sector. It improved storage efficiency by 35 percent and operating efficiency by 50 percent, maximizing logistics performance," he said.

Beyond intelligent agricultural practice, exhibitors also focused on sustainable management, green and low-carbon development.
