She is already weak, but still had to suffer under such conditions. Sometimes she just wanted to eat something or have a cold drink, but there was no way to find any. After all the struggles and hardships, we finally made it here."

Storyline

With the coordination and help of Jordanian Armed Forces, 34 pediatric patients from the Gaza Strip arrived in Jordan for medical treatment on Wednesday.

The children were accompanied by 95 of their family members and would be treated in line with Jordan's highest medical care standards, under the coordination of Jordan's Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Seven of the group will be treated in Jordan's King Hussein Cancer Center, and the rest will be transferred to Spain, Türkiye, the U.S., and France for further medical care.

This is the eighth group of Gazan patients received by Jordan since the Jordan-Gaza Medical Corridor functioned. Jordan's authority noted that the country has received a total of 379 Gazans under the initiative, including 119 patients and 260 accompanying relatives.

"My daughter has cancer. Every time we brought her to hospital, we had to be out all day, from morning to night. It was really hard. There was no proper medical treatment or transport. She is already weak, but still had to suffer under such conditions. Sometimes she just wanted to eat something or have a cold drink, but there was no way to find any. After all the struggles and hardships, we finally made it here," said Misil Agha, one of the accompanying parents.

"My daughter has lymphatic diseases and has received chemotherapy three times. The journey was long and exhausting, but we finally made it. Honestly, this is the happiest day of my life," said Umm Sarah, mother of another young patient.
