Business ties between China and the United States have shown positive momentum as trade tensions ease, according to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) on Thursday.
As a new round of China-U.S. trade talks just wrapped up in Stockholm, the council said business communities on both sides are stepping up engagement.
"The business communities of both countries have long formed a mutually beneficial community of shared interests. They are firm supporters of a stable, healthy, and sustainable bilateral relationship. According to a recent USCBC (US-China Business Council) report, 82 percent of surveyed U.S. companies said they were profitable in China in 2024," Wang Linjie, CCPIT spokesperson, said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.
The council said the value of trade friction measures targeting China from 19 countries and regions dropped by 57.8 percent year on year in May, and 13.5 percent from the previous month.
The drop is largely thanks to the joint statement released after the China-U.S. economic talks in Geneva in May, which helped boost global market confidence and allowed some affected businesses to regain orders.
