China's customs sector has made notable progress during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–2025), driven by steady trade growth and a widening network of global partnerships.

This momentum reflects not only China's expanding economic footprint but also its evolving approach to international cooperation.

At a press conference in Beijing on Monday, Sun Meijun, Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China, highlighted the country's commitment to multilateralism and its deepening ties with emerging markets. She emphasized the strategic importance of diversified trade routes and the growing impact of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

"China firmly upholds the multilateral trading system, opposes unilateralism, and counters bullying practices.
