Storyline

The 2025 Inclusion Conference on the Bund, known as one of the leading events focusing on financial technology in Asia, opened in China's financial hub of Shanghai on Thursday, with a focus on the application and development of artificial intelligence.

Themed "Path to Innovative Growth," the conference has brought together 550 guests from 16 countries and regions to jointly explore the innovative paths and business future for the intelligent era.

The event, running from Wednesday to Saturday, consists of an opening forum, and 44 insight forums, as well as tech exhibitions and sci-tech innovative activities. It aims to serve as a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their technologies and have matchmaking with cooperative partners.

"I feel that AI and human flourishing both could come from decentralized cooperation. Cooperation is not always possible, but it's the source of all that is good in the world. We must look for it, support it and seek to institutionalize it," said Richard Sutton, co-recipient of the 2024 A.M. Turing Award, when addressing the opening forum via video link.

Some guests said they believe that the opening of artificial intelligence is vital and may even lead to AI models being deployed in outer space.

"We sent 12 satellites into orbit simultaneously for the first time on May 14 this year. Moreover, on this constellation formed by the 12 satellites, we deployed an accurate 8B AI model from Earth into space for the first time," said Wang Jian, director of Zhijiang Lab and founder of Alibaba Cloud.

Wang said this marks the first time that satellite interconnectivity in space has been fully realized, presenting a tremendous opportunity for AI in space.

Apart from the delivery of keynote speeches by leading figures in financial technology forums, the exhibition has also brought together 200 companies showcasing the latest AI applications in finance.

With the development of AI, the financial sector is also being reshaped, as evidenced by China's first AI model for financial reasoning exhibited at the event.

"The financial industry demands exceptionally high levels of professionalism, rigor and security from large language models. This makes us build a domain-specific model for finance through training and reinforcement learning. By leveraging AI, a client manager who previously could serve 100 clients can now serve up to 1,000 clients, driving significant business growth," said Wang Lei, general manager of the AI Native Business Department of Ant Group Digital Technologies.

Established in 2020, the Inclusion Conference on the Bund has become one of the three major fintech events in Asia, together with the Hong Kong FinTech Week and the Singapore FinTech Festival. This year, organizers expect over 50,000 visits during the four-day event.
