"China has always insisted on resolving the Iranian nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means and opposed any threatened use of force and exertion of pressure through sanctions. Activating the UN Security Council's 'snapback' mechanism is not conducive for all parties to rebuild trust and bridge differences. The immediate priority is for all sides to intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent the crisis from escalating. China will continue to promote peace talks, playing a constructive role in reaching a solution that accommodates all parties' legitimate concerns."
