1. Various of baby panda sleeping
A recent video captured heartwarming footage of a baby panda peacefully snoozing at the Star Giant Panda Nursery House in the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding CCRCGP in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The cub, born earlier this year and covered in soft gray hair, was seen sleeping on its back on a cozy wooden board, occasionally stretching its tiny paws.
The gray hue comes from the sparse black hair on some newborn pandas, creating a blend with their white fur. After these cubs grow to around the age of one, they will turn into unmistakable black and white like adult giant pandas.
The Chengdu base is a world-renowned center for the ex-situ conservation of giant pandas. It also serves as a hub for scientific research, public education and ecotourism. The institution is internationally recognized for its efforts to protect and breed giant pandas, red pandas and other endangered wildlife species native to China.
