Storyline

The European Council announced on Tuesday that it had approved the fifth regular disbursement of support to Ukraine, totaling over 1.8 billion euros.

The Council highlighted that this funding is part of the EU's assistance mechanism for Ukraine and will primarily be used to strengthen Ukraine's macro-financial stability and support the continued functioning of its public administration.

The Ukraine Facility, which entered into force on March 1, 2024, provides up to 50 billion euros of stable financing, in grants and loans, to support Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction, and modernization for the period from 2024 to 2027. So far, it has already disbursed four payments.
