Chinese Finance Minister Lan Fo'an and his Russian counterpart Anton Siluanov co-chaired the 11th China-Russia Financial Ministerial Dialogue in Beijing on Tuesday.
The two sides had in-depth discussions and reached broad consensus on a range of topics, including the macroeconomic situation and policies, sub-national fiscal management, and exchanges between think tanks, as well as bilateral cooperation within the frameworks of G20, BRICS, and multilateral financial institutions.
Officials from the financial departments of both countries attended the dialogue.
"China is willing to conduct in-depth exchanges with Russia on the macroeconomic situation and policies of both countries, so as to promote and support each other's development and rejuvenation, and inject stronger impetus into global development. China stands ready to work with Russia to advance financial and economic policy exchanges and cooperation, in a bid to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. China is willing to work with Russia to strengthen communication and coordination on major international financial issues, and to promote a more just and equitable global economic governance system," Lan said at the meeting.
Noting that China and Russia are important trading partners for each other, Lan said China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Russia in finance and taxation, and deepen collaboration on the securities and insurance sectors.
Moreover, China is ready to work with Russia to implement the Global Governance Initiative, maintain close cooperation, support the New Development Bank in growing stronger, promote the stable operation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and promote the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Development Bank at an early date, Lan added.
