China's total goods imports and exports in yuan-denominated terms rose to 37.31 trillion yuan (about 5.24 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months of 2025, up 3.6 percent year on year, data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) showed Friday.
During this period, China's exports reached 22.12 trillion yuan (about 3.11 trillion U.S. dollars), marking a 6.2 percent increase. Imports reached 15.19 trillion yuan (about 2.13 trillion U.S. dollars), with crude oil and metal ore imports rising by 3.1 percent and 4.6 percent, respectively.
Additionally, the value of electromechanical product imports grew by 5.5 percent, making up 40 percent of the total import value.
Trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 19.28 trillion yuan (about 2.71 trillion U.S. dollars), reflecting a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent and making up 51.7 percent of China's total foreign trade.
Meanwhile, private enterprises recorded trade of 21.28 trillion yuan (about 2.99 trillion U.S. dollars), representing a growth of 7.2 percent compared to the previous year.
In October, China's foreign trade reached 3.7 trillion yuan (about 520 billion U.S. dollars), with exports at 2.17 trillion yuan (about 305 billion U.S. dollars) and imports at 1.53 trillion yuan (about 215 billion U.S. dollars).
