Hamas has rejected the U.S.-drafted resolution on post-war arrangements in Gaza adopted by the UN Security Council on Monday.
In a statement posted on its social media account on Tuesday, Hamas said that it and other Palestinian factions and armed groups will continue to uphold the Palestinian people's right to resistance and self-defense.
The statement emphasized that any proposed deployment of international forces to Gaza, under the current framework, would amount to a form of trusteeship or imposed administration, thereby restricting the Palestinian people's rights to self-determination and autonomy.
The statement warned that if such international forces were to function as a security mechanism coordinating with the Israeli authorities, they would become a new tool for aggression against the Palestinian people and the continuation of efforts to eradicate them.
The U.S.-drafted Resolution 2803 endorses the 20-point Comprehensive Plan for Gaza announced by U.S. President Donald Trump in September. It won the support of 13 council members during a Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.
Russia, which has presented a competing draft resolution, abstained, along with China.
